Queries go like this: 'Why do fireflies glow? They’re so magical.' I think it's because they have this magical touch of nature within them. This glowing is their way of telling us that they belong to the enchanted world of the night.

You know, there are these speculations that say fireflies use their light as a signal to attract mates. But, one thing that bugs me (laughs) is why doesn’t the light also repel bugs? It’s so bright; it shouldn’t be welcome for those little critters.

I’ve heard from a friend who used to work at the uni’s science department, he said that fireflies actually have a chemical compound that produces the light, and this process is called bioluminescence. It’s like their own way of playing with fire. I guess there’s a certain level of passion in the insect world that we humans just can’t comprehend.

Another interesting thing I read about fireflies is that they are really sensitive to light pollution. They need a dark, clean自然环境 to glow properly. This made me think about how much we humans have disrupted nature with our city lights and street lamps. We need to think about adding more parks and green spaces if we ever want to see those magical lights glowing as they should.

When I was younger, my grandmother used to tell us stories about how the glow of the fireflies was a sign of good luck and prosperity. She used to say that those who watched the fireflies could see some of the most beautiful things in life. Sometimes, I point my finger at that glowing and smile, thinking the old stories might be true.
